This poetic allegory of the quest for Peace allows us to address a range of different subjects close to our hearts, both through the story and through the production of the musical itself.

• Through the production:

  • INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY: the arrangements (orchestral and recorded) were created with the collaboration of international artists in order to enrich the sound with a quality contemporary world music spirit, bringing together musicians of the world and their international audiences.
  • TRAINING AND BACK-TO-WORK PROGRAMS: one of our partners is ‘Le Palais de la Femme’, an association and residence which aims to get people back to work. Singing lessons and free shows, as well as psychological and well-meaning assistance are offered to the residents, who are essentially women going through a period of transition and reconstruction. Many of them want to take part in the show, and invest their time and enthusiasm, taking part in the creation of costumes, masks and set design. For these women this participation represents an important professional training experience.
  • DIVERSITY : more than half of the artists in the company come from a mix of cultures, both in order to stay faithful to the story – which sees part of the action taking place in a country on the other side of the world, and the other part in a colourless town – and also because the Parisian auditions often miss out on the talent of artists who come from a sometimes marginalised and often mixed urban culture, the famous “invisible minority”.
  • ECOLOGY : at each stage of the creation, we ensure the conduct of Earth-friendly actions. Long live recycling! We are attentive to the fact that our costumes, sets and paints used live on the stage, as well as the paper used in the promotion, fit with the norms that fit, in turn, with our values.

• Dans le livret :

  • L’ÉCOLOGIE, car la vraie « star » de la pièce est la Terre.
  • L’EFFET PAPILLON : dans le livret ce qui a poussé Aïlo à partir n’est sans doute pas sans rapport avec l’inconséquence des industriels, les exigences du mode de vie des citadins et au manque de respect de la Terre par tous.
    La désolation dans laquelle est plongé son village a été provoquée par l’achat des graines de Morsanto qui ressemblent à s’y méprendre à celles d’un célèbre marchand de semences transgéniques américain…
  • LA PAIX est le fil rouge de la pièce. Chacun des personnages, notamment Le Laveur de carreaux – qui déserte un champ de bataille pour créer en ville la bande des Passeurs de Lumière – est en quête de Paix, conscient ou pas qu’Elle est garante de sa survie et de son bonheur.
  • LA PLACE DE LA FEMME est abordée à travers le personnage de Mirella, sombre héroïne et femme battue qui ne peut accéder à un réel pouvoir sans son homme. Elle pose la question du comment initier une paix durable sans revisiter le rapport hommes et femmes.

   

• Dans la diffusion du spectacle :

  • PÉDAGOGIE ET LIEN SOCIAL. Les chansons de la comédie musicale sont accessibles à tous et laissent une large part à la polyphonie, donc au partage, valeur inhérente au thème même de la pièce. Des actions pédagogiques et d’échanges sont menées notamment auprès des écoles, collèges, lycées chorales amateurs et professionnelles favorisant à la fois le lien social et la sensibilisation à une esthétique bio responsable. Nous souhaitons continuer à associer des ensembles vocaux amateurs et professionnels à chaque représentation, et partager avec tous la joie de chanter ensemble la paix et le respect de la planète. Ce bel échange se concrétisera par une communion entre artistes et spectateurs-chanteurs lors des représentations. Des «flash mob» sont également organisés par les ensembles vocaux dans leur communes ou quartiers, diffusant ainsi dans des lieux publics les chansons de paix portées par Aïlo.
